Early Times Report

Kathua, Jan 18: Struggling contractual lecturers (10+2) leader Vinod Kumar threatened to restart sit-in protest fast unto death if the J&K Government gets failed to do the justice with 10+2 contractual lecturers. Vinod Kumar had already conducted 35 days fast unto death on dated 14 Feb 2017 to 20 March 2017 as protest demonstration demanding the regularization of all 10+2 contractual Lecturers. It is pertinent to mention here that a big sit in protest demonstration led by Vinod Kumar was initiated in 2017 later was converted into fast unto death in favor of 10+2 contractual lecturers’ regularization demand. In a hand written statement, Vinod warned the Government if the regularization policy for the 10+2 lectures is not framed within a week, to restart sit in protest fast unto death. He said we contractual lecturers have been promised and committed by the JK government with a policy of regularization as per Govt. Order No.1301 Education of 2003 dated 31-07-2003. He said we have given services in Govt Higher Secondaries as 10+2 lecturers more than 15 years on contract basis with a hope to get a permanent future security but the government did nothing to do justice with we people while we have no other option of jobs. Most of the contractual lecturers have become overaged and only the earner in the family, he added in statement.
