EARLY TIMES REPORT

SRINAGAR, Jan 18: Common masses are confused over the grant of Degree Colleges and Thesil status within 2 kilometer radius in Rafiabad area of north Kashmir's Baramulla district.
According to locals of Rafiabad that,Rafiabad is attached with 5 tehsils including Baramulla, Sopore, Rohama,Watergam and Dangiwacha.
Due to some interests and unwanted approaches of some selfish people they struggled for degree college and thesil status and compelled the government to take these steps in hurry, but in the reality these decisions have mislead a confusion among the people and especially among the students community of these far flung areas, said locals.
Javid Ahmad of Rafiabad area told early times that two tehsils have been established within 2 kilometers like Dangiwacha and Watergam, even though two degree colleges have been established within three kilometers only like Degree college Hadipora, and Degree college Dangiwacha.
Bashir Ahmad of Bahrampur said that thesil Watergam should have been established at Hadipora which is a centrally located place and SDPO office as well as Degree college is also located there which are functioning smoothly.
It is believed that Watergam is the last village of thesil Watergam and of district Baramulla, people have an easy access to this area and they also feel ditched as government has failed to provide some other benefits which the area was deserving, said Bashir.
A group of locals believe that thesil Dangiwacha is the starting village of thesil Dangiwacha, which should have been located at Channam Hachipora that is centrally located place in the area, and government can rethink over their decisions.
"Instead of creating confusions among the masses, government should take all the stakeholders in confidence and held threadbare discussions with them so that the government functionaries can work smoothly, sources informed ET.
Meanwhile sources also added that in the recent past government took many decisions of development and granted government degree colleges in various districts of Kashmir valley, but these colleges were established in far flung areas where there is no access of common people or no facility whatsoever available.
