Incomplete bridge force poor villagers to trek tough terrain
1/18/2020 11:30:18 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

UDHAMPUR, Jan 18: The apathy of the authorities is openly telling its tale as the Pleather Bridge in tehsil Majalta is yet to be completed as of now despite a wait of over six long years.
Sad part of the story is that poor pace of work in start with totally abandoning of the work is costing dear to thousands of people from Panchayat Jansal including villages Pleather, Jagwal, Jansal, Haripur etc.
Raj Veer, 70 year old a local informed that total length of this road is approximately 10 kms but just 500 metres part of it along with this vital bridge are yet to be completed.
In the absence of the bridge locals have to trek long through tough terrain to reach Dhar road via Majlata road.
Karam Chand, another elder of the area informed that completion of the bridge will give much relief to the locals of the area as their travelling time will reduce to a large extent.
He further informed that completion of the bridge will leave only 500m distance to reach Dhar road which presently is 7 km.
However, few people use a rope to climb up the incomplete bridge and then walk over it to reach the road which is a risky exercise and may lead to some mishap.
“We have brought the issue to the notice of concerned authorities many times but no action has been initiated on ground as of now,” He maintained
We appeal to Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu to look into the matter personally and informed to deputy commissioner udhampur for completion the concern bridge.
