Road Safety Week organized at RM Public School

Jammu, Jan 19: G.S Sports Club today organized 31st Road Safety Week at R.M Public School Chowadi, Sanik Colony.
Randheer Singh SSP, Commandant IRP 19BN was the Chief Guest and Pawan Sharma ARTO Jammu was the Guest of honor.
The motive of the Event was to Aware the society to stay physically fit, Follow Traffic Rules and drive safely.
General Secretary, Atul Sudan addressing the gathered students appreciated the role of the students and gave a strong message to students to adopt any sport for their physical strength.
Addressing on the topic he said that every year from 11th of January to 17th of January we observe road safety week to make people aware about various traffic and road safety rules.
He said around 1.5 lakh people lose their precious lives in road accidents every year.
He encouraged students to be part of this awareness drive and should make our society aware of road safety and traffic rules.
Pawan Sharma ARTO Jammu in his address told the students of the school regarding various kinds of traffic rules, various traffic signboards and traffic violations and their fines. He asked students to follow complete rules and regulations while driving. He also briefed about the procedure for getting a driving license.
He told the gathering about various measures taken by the transport department to curb traffic accidents.
Chief Guest speaking on the occasion congratulated G.S Sports Club and its team for organizing such events.
Addressing the gathering sing said students play an important role in nation-building hence it is very crucial to educate them first regarding the road safety and traffic rules.
He said students should today take a lesson from here and should pass the gathered knowledge to their parents and guardians at home regarding traffic violations and regulations.
He further told students about the importance of sports in one’s life.
He motivated the students to continue their hard work in the sports also so that they can participate in Nationals, Internationals and make our state and nation proud.
Chairman R.M Public School Rameshwar Mengi, who also presided over the function, urged the students to stay physically fit, work hard to pursue their aims and play an an important role in nation-building.
