| Army organizes kisan mela | | | Early Times Report
MENDHAR, Jan 20: To create awareness about modern agriculture technology, Indian Army organised a massive Kisan Mela at Mendhar.
Maj Gen PS Bajwa, GOC CIF (Romeo) graced the occasion with his presence alongwith officials of Army and civil administration. Approx 1200 x villagers (Farmers) were present during the ceremony.
On this occasion various stalls of civil administration agencies like Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry and modern equipments for farming were displayed to educate the villagers on various schemes of Government of India to promote the agriculture.
Technical experts from Ministry of Agriculture and Krishi Udyog Kendra also briefed the villagers on modern technique to increase the yield and horizon of entrepreneurship in Agro business.
The Sarpanches of 12 villages were presented with Compost Plant of Vermiculture and Organic Fertilizer as an initiative towards organic farming. Villagers appreciated the efforts of Indian Army in providing guidance and bringing technology in agriculture for effortless and profitable cultivation. |
