Rajouri, Jan 20: People living in newly created Sub division Thannamandi have expressed their grave concern over deterioration medicare and demanded establishment of full fledged hospital to mitigate the health related problems of the locals in Thannamandi sub division of district Rajouri.
Locals alleged while talking to Early Times that long back in 1947 there was only a dispensary and by the passage of time after 50 years in 1998 dispensary was upgraded to Primary Health Centre (PHC), without any facility for patients there, they said adding, for the last over 22 years no steps were taken by the successive governments for further up gradation of health scenario.
In last BJP-PDP regime Thannamandi was declared a sub division of Rajouri yet no development especially on the front of health and roads took place, they added.
They said Thannamandi falls near to Mugal Road and has famous sofi shrine of Shahdara Sharief situated in its central place lacks development on all fronts in which main were health and road connectivity.
They said there were only three medical officers in the PHC who were examining nearly 250 patients a day but people have to go in the market to conduct analytical tests including sonography, ECG, x-ray and other tests officials said there were all equipments available in the PHC but due to non availability of technicians the machinery was gathering dust they added.
municipal chairman Shakeel Mir while talking to Early Times urged the district administration that Thannamandi deserves to have hospital and also being an accident prone area establishment of Trauma hospital is need of the hour in the sub division.
Moreover a senior citizen Maqbool Khan has urged Director Health services Jammu to deputed required technicians to PHC and essentially a lady doctor was much needed to mitigate the problems of women folk in the area.
