Union MoS Sarangi dedicates several development projects to rural populace

KATHUA, Jan 20: Union Minister of State for Animal Husbandry, Dairying & Fisheries, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Partap Chandra Sarangi, today said that the Union Government is endeavoring hard towards all round development of every part of Jammu and Kashmir with emphasis on unreached areas.
Union MoS, while addressing a mammoth gathering during a public outreach program at Ramkot in Billawar Sub Division of Kathua district, spoke about numerous reformatory steps which are being initiated to ensure that inhabitants of every part of J&K gets enhanced basic services for leading a dignified life.
On the occasion, Union MoS dedicated several development projects including Common Facility Centre at Ramkote constructed with a cost of Rs. 49.50 lakh, PMGSY road links from Kandharnu to Nand, Dhar Road to Bardhata completed with a cost of Rs. 219.34 lakh and Rs. 142.52 lakh and link road from Dhar Road constructed with a cost of Rs. 6.86 lakh under MGNREGA.
The Minster also presented 6 cheques worth Rs. 2.55 lakh to beneficiaries of Marriage Assistance Scheme besides distributing 5 LPG connections among the beneficiaries under Ujjawala Yojana.
Highlighting the benefits of several central welfare schemes, the MoS said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is taking keen interest towards making sure that benefit of all development and welfare schemes could percolate to the downtrodden and deserving segments of the society. In this regard, he emphasized the need of collaborative efforts of all stakeholders including concerned officers and PRI members besides the public. He asked for raising massive awareness regarding these schemes for optimum coverage of beneficiaries. He congratulated the people for getting Government Degree College at Ramkot being established with an estimated cost of Rs. 12 crore.
Earlier, the MoS inaugurated stalls of various departments including Horticulture, Sheep Husbandry, Agriculture, Handicrafts and Social Welfare exhibiting farming implements, high yielding seeds and other products and schemes.
District Development Commissioner, O P Bhagat, presented a brief profile of the district before the MoS and spelled out the progress achieved, so far, under various schemes in the district.
Panchs, Sarpanchs and BDC Chairpersons raised several demands before the MoS which included improved road connectivity, Mobile Schools for ST population and related issues.
