Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 20: Twenty seven wickets fell in two days in a match being played between Jammu and Kashmir and host ODISHA as latter leads by 173 runs in second innings with two more days of play.
Odisha is leading Elite Group C group and followed by Jammu and Kashmir. J&K is unbeaten this season so is Odisha but is leading the table with 2 points based on winning the match by huge margin. Earlier Jammu and Kashmir won the toss and opted to field on the pitch which has so far favored bowlers from both the sides as only two to three players could score that too limited to few runs. Odisha had a good start in first inning with openers sharing 51 runs, and that was it as wickets started falling tumbling. Half of the Odisha team was back to dressing room on the score of 103 runs and rest of the players added just 58 runs. Auqib Nabi took five wickets for Jammu and Kashmir and for Odisha Captain Subhransu Senapati stood tall and scored 42 runs keeping them in race. For a second Jammu and Kashmir would have thought they can score big and can take big lead in first innings.
Jammu and Kashmir had a poor start with Suryansh Raina losing the first wicket on the score of 5 runs. Ahmed Banday failed to score again after he was kept out of the game for one match. J&K kept loosing wickets at regular pace.
Jammu and Kashmir were bundled out for 124 runs giving 37 runs lead in second innings. Shubham Khajuria (40), Abdul Samad (20) and Auqib Nabi (23) were the highest run getter for team J&K.
Coming to bat in second innings, there was Déjà vu as openers contributed 50 runs partnership yet again Shantanu Mishra (26) Anurag Sarangi (26) Debasish Samantray (23) Subhransu Senapati (17) scored in bits and pieces to keep Odisha score board ticking.
