EARLY TIMES REPORT

UDHAMPUR, Jan 20: Astonishing it may sound but is a bitter truth that patients and others visiting the District Hospital (DH) Udhampur often get dodged as name plates on boards as well as doors and at many other places in the health institution show names of doctors who are either retired or transferred to other places long back.
“I came here to get myself examined from Dr Rajinder after I read his name at one of the rooms of the Hospital. But when I reached the hospital, I was told that the doctor got retired,” Bishan Lal, a visiting patient told this reporter.
Similar were the reactions of other patients and few others visiting the hospital.
Sources informed that increased work load on the hospital staff is responsible for the error but other sources questioned the hospital administration for not updating data about the staff present in the medical institution of the district.
Shockingly the duty roster of the duty doctors has also many such names which clearly reflect that the rooster is made by properly applying mind. “If such is the case in the list of doctors displayed what level of medical treatment we expect from such a medical institution,” Girdhari Lal, a senior citizen commented.
