Gangwar visits Batote; inaugurates Power Receiving Station, Fruits, Vegetable Market

RAMBAN, Jan 21: Union Minister of State (MoS) (Independent Charge) for Labour and Employment, Santosh Kumar Gangwar visited district Ramban and inaugurated Power Receiving Station, Chanderkote and Fruit and Vegetable Market, Batote besides addressed the general public at Batote today.
Commissioner Secretary, Labour and Employment, Sourabh Bhagat, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ramban, Nazim Zai Khan, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Ramban Anita Sharam, Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing, Imam Din, SE, STD, RC Sharma, CEO/Secretary, JKBOCWWB, Peer Muzaffar Ahmed, ADDC, ADC and various senior officers of various departments, presidents of MCs, BDC Chairpersons, PRIs and huge gathering of public attended the function.
Speaking on the occasion Union Minister said that government is accountable to public and committed for overall development of Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir and it is appreciable that UT is going on right track of peace and development with the cooperation of general public.
He further said that nature and tourism is the potential of Jammu and Kashmir and government leaving no stone unturned to develop the same to provide a new identity of the UT.
Gangwar added that government is very keen to complete the ongoing multi crore’s projects including railway and four laning projects in J&K.
He assured a 30 Bedded Hospital for labour community and a Career Counseling Centre for district Ramban added that the Labour and Employment department sanctioned each 100 bedded hospital for Kashmir and Jammu each besides 30 bedded hospital for Leh.
During his visit he also inaugurated the Fruit and Vegetable Mandi (Market) at Batote constructed by the Horticulture Planning and Marketing Department on 17 Kanal land with an expenditure of rupees more than 2.58 crore.
He also inaugurated the 6.3 MVA, 33/11KV Power Receiving Station at Chanderkote constructed by the Sub Transmission Division, Udhampur under Rural Electrification (RE) scheme with an expenditure of rupees 2.75 crore. It would cover the 4200 households of 14 Panchyats of surrounding areas.
Meantime, he also distributed the PMSYM Cards, Labour Cards, ATM Credit Cards among the workers registered by the Labour and Employment department, Marriage Assistance amount to young girls provided by Social welfare Department besides financial assistance cheques under Education Financial Assistance scheme of Jammu and Kashmir Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (JKBOCWWB).
Commissioner Secretary informed about the status of implementation of different schemes launched by the Labour and Employment department. He said that department effectively implementing all the schemes meant for the youth and labour class especially Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Mandhan Yojana under which 95000 people have registered across the state.
Earlier in his welcome address DC Ramban gave brief information of developmental activities going on in different sectors across the district. He apprised the minister about the potential, culture and tradition of the district.
Later Director, Horticulture Planning and Marketing presented the vote of thanks.
