Jammu, Jan 21: As a social obligation towards healthy India, country's premier multinational general insurance company, The New India Assurance Company Limited ( NIACL ) today launched its Cancer Guard Policy. Explaining its salient features, Company's Senior Divisional Manager for Jammu Division, Dr. Daleep Pandita said that people in the age group of 3 months up to 65 years can obtain this policy for different values from five lacs to fifty lacs per person based on age, for a period of one year, against annual premium ranging from Rs.600 to Rs. 34,000 respectively. No medical check up is required for taking this cover. This scheme contains the inbuilt benefits of ambulance charges, second opinion for surgery, post treatment follow up, reconstruction of affected body parts , about two month day care procedures and many more benefits besides cumulative bonus for each claim free year. It has also waiting period of 90 days. Dr. Pandita stated that this policy covers the expenses incurred on all types of treatment related to cancer cure like Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy, Immunotherapy, Hormonal therapy, Onco surgery, Organ transplant, Bone marrow transplant etc. It covers advanced stages ( Stage IV ) of cancer also. He said this policy does not cover pre existing condition for cancer and no any treatment other than cancer, non allopathic treatment, plastic and cosmetic surgery, rehabilitation and respite care etc.
