DC Srinagar visits venue to take stock of arrangements

SRINAGAR, JANUARY 22: Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary Wednesday visited the Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium at Sonwar, the venue of this year's Republic Day celebrations in the district, and took stock of arrangements being put in place there.
The DC was briefed in detail about different kinds of arrangements being made at the venue including those of stage and seating, power and drinking water, and parking facilities in and around the venue for visitors.
He issued specific instructions to all concerned departments to ensure that all arrangements are made well in advance. He said the R&B, PDD and SMC have important roles to play in view of the prevailing weather conditions and asked them to ensure all necessary arrangements are made for smooth conduct of the national function.
Dr Shahid also instructed the concerned departments to ensure thorough maintenance of cleanliness in and around view and proper parking facilities for all visitors. He directed close coordination between the concerned departments to ensure proper communication for smooth conduct of the function.
The DC also enquired about participant rehearsals and instructed that all facilities including transportation, refreshments and accommodation be provided to the participants during the entire period of rehearsals.
Senior officers from all concerned departments accompanied the DC on the occasion.
