| DDC flags off awareness rally under BBBP campaign | | |  Early Times Report
Rajouri, Jan 22: On the directions of District Development Commissioner Mohammad Nazir Sheikh, ADC Rajouri , Sher Singh flagged off a rally on the eve of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao-a week long special campaign at District Headquarter Rajouri. The rally was flagged off in presence of Deputy Director Planning Bilal Rashid Mir, Chief of NYC Rajouri, Women Welfare Officer Anum Mirza, Sanjana Thakur (Dist. Co-ordinator of MSK), Nazma Sheikh (Dist. Co-ordinator of MSK) and various teachers from different schools.
Around 700 students both girls and boys participated in the rally. The Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Sher Singh said on the occasion that the objective of organising such rallies and awareness programmes is to make people aware about the importance of girl child in the society besides bringing about an attitudinal change among the people about the girl child. While Deputy Director Planning Bilal Rashid Mir stressed upon the need to understand the role of parents and teachers in ensuring that the girl gets proper upbringing, education and all facilities for their overall development and emancipation. He said conducting awareness programmes and rallies on girl child oriented schemes will be of immense use in sensitizing the community about saving, educating and ensuring dignity to the girl child. |
