| Tributes paid to martyr cop in Hayatpura Manjakote | | |  Early times Raporter
Rajouri (Manjakoat) Jan 22: Jammu and Kashmir Police along with Civil administration and other security forces on Wednesday paid rich professional tributes to the martyr Special Police Officer who laid down his life while fighting militants in Awantipora area of Kashmir on Tuesday. SPO Shahbaz Ahmed was a part of police team taking part in a Counter Insurgency operation in Awantipora when he received bullet injuries and later succumbed. The body of the martyr was on Wednesday morning airlifted from Srinagar to Jammu and than to Manjakote where senior officers received the body at a helipad in Manjakote from where it was taken to martyr's native village Hayatpura.
A wreath laying ceremony was organised at Hayatpura village where senior officers of Jammu and Kashmir police, civil administration and army took part while thousands of locals attended the last rites. As per devised procedure, tributes were paid to the martyr cop who was later buried in ancestral graveyard. J&K police will remember the martyr who laid down his life for the motherland and set an example of bravery. |
