Hirdesh stresses on better planning, implementation of schemes

JAMMU, Jan 22: 39th Regional Workshop on Training and Capacity Building of State and District MIS (Management Information System) Coordinators hosted by Directorate of Samagra Shiksha, J&K commenced today at hotel Radisson Narwal Jammu. 80 District MIS Officers from five 5 States/UTs viz J&K, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Punjab and Uttrakhand participated in the workshop. The Regional Workshop is being organised through Union Ministry of Human Resource Development.
The broad agenda for the workshop is to discuss newly added variables in Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE) + Data Capture Format (DCF) training on modified UDISE+ Software, to discuss key performance indicators for planning and other programmes and sharing of best practices and strategies to improve coverage of UDISE+.
Commissioner Secretary School Education, Hirdesh Kumar Singh while interacting with the participants underlined the importance of data collection and uploading on UDISE for better planning and bridging the infrastructural and institutional gaps. He stressed that focus should be on the purity of data uploaded on UDISE.
The Secretary reiterated that the Administrative Officers of School Education Department should widely use the data from UDISE and analyse it for better planning and implementation of schemes.
State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha J&K, Dr Arun Manhas while addressing the participants stressed that UDISE+ is an online application for capturing school level data related to infrastructure, PTR, subject wise teacher details, toilets, playgrounds, ICT labs, Libraries, Laboratories and much more for deciding the Performance Indicators and to prepare better planning and execute the policies perfectly.
He stressed upon all the participants to acquire maximum skills and knowledge from this programme and disseminate the same to the ground level in order to achieve the set goals.
Chief Consultant TSG, Union Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MHRD), Alka Mishra, Nodal Officer for Workshop, Peerzada Mushtaq Ahmad, members from TSG, MHRD besides State Coordinators Ravinder Jangral, Jagdeep Padha, Technical Coordinator Mehrish Goni, Programmers Sunita Fotedar, Vikas Khajuria and other senior officers from Directorate of Samagra Shiksha were present on the occasion.
