DPS Jammu celebrates 71st Republic Day

Jammu, Jan 23: Delhi Public School (DPC) Jammu celebrated 71st Republic Day in the school premises with great enthusiasm, gaiety and fervour.
The special assembly started with a patriotic group song presented by the school choir followed by a talk on Republic Day by Harihar Sharma of class VIII. Tiny Tots of Pre-Primary wing presented a dance, choreographed by Anju Jain and left the audience mesmerized with their foot-tapping beats and graceful movements while Arindum Sharma of Class VII presented a melodious tune on his violin, followed by Patriotic Poem Recitation by students of Class III.
Next was the captivating Dhol performance by AadharSawhney of class I, which won the hearts of the audience, while the stage was set on fire with Children’s patriotic group dance performance, choreographed by SheetalChalotra.
The message conveyed on Road Safety Week, recently organized in the school was reiterated through NukkadNatak and Action Song presentations highlighted with the presence of Charlie Chaplin played by Aadhvik Sharma of class V. The whole assembly was anchored by Aashna Mahajan (IX) and Tejas Raina (IX) of Yamuna House.
Principal, DPS Jammu, RuchiChabra greeted the students and the staff on this occasion and said that the beautiful array of cultural programmes served as a befitting tribute to our Constitution, Diversity, Oneness, and Cultural Heritage. Headmistress, Meenu Gupta applauded the efforts of the students and teachers for bringing a positive change in their surroundings. The celebrations concluded with the release of Tri Colour balloons by the dignitaries, followed by the National Anthem. President, M.K Ajatshatru Singh, KunwraniRitu Singh and Director, S.S Sodhi wished a Happy Republic Day to the students, their parents and staff of the school.
