Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 24: CJM Reasi Amarjeet Singh Langeh directed SHO Police Station Reasi to register FIR against Mohd Shariff S/o Haji Iqbal Alias Bala Haji R/o Jindrah Tehsil Jindrah District Jammu for duping lacs of rupees in the name of trat Gola.
The grievance of complainant is that accused, who was introduced to him by common friends promised that he would give to complainant a rare and unique stone which is formed due to lightening in the sky and whose international price is in crores just for an amount of Rs. 22,50,000/- (Twenty two lakh and fifty thousand). On this assurance, complainant says that he delivered the aforesaid amount to accused and accused never handed over him the stone; that intention of the complainant to dupe and cheat complainant was from inception. Hence this complaint.
According to police report, complainant has infact been cheated by accused and that intention of accused to cheat complainant was right from the inception when he allegedly induced complainant to make a payment of Rs. 22,50,000/- (Twenty two lakh and fifty thousand) to him. Despite credible prima facie evidence been made available to SHO Police Station Reasi by complainant, yet SHO concerned did not register the FIR and instead complainant seems to have been advised/ suggested to approach Crime Branch. Course adopted by SHO Police Station Reasi in this regard is not consistent with law to say the least.
Court after considered the contents of complaint and report received from police station concerned, SHO Police Station Reasi is directed to register FIR against accused under relevant provisions of law forthwith and submit compliance report within two days. -JNF
