Congress terms J&K as ‘milching cow’ for BJP

Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 24: Terming the recent visit of 36 Union Ministers to the newly-created Union Territory as a ‘flop show,’ the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Friday said that Jammu and Kashmir has become a “milching cow” for BJP.
“BJP is riding on J&K in the country and it has become a ‘milching cow’ for them,’’ JKPCC president Ghulam Ahmed Mir told reporters here, at a press conference.
“Any decision taken by the saffron brigade across the nation, directly or indirectly, is related to J&K to gain mileage,’’ he alleged.
The former Minister further said that 2019 Parliamentary elections were also won by the saffron party, due to the J&K issues.
On the recent outreach programme by the Union Ministers in Jammu and Kashmir, the Congress chief said it was nothing but a “futile exercise” and remained a “flop show”.
“The visit was just a mockery, the projects inaugurated were almost old and there was nothing new to offer to people,” said Mr Mir, adding that it was merely a photoshoot for the Ministers.
On restoration of normalcy in Kashmir valley and the end of terrorism, the Congress leader said, “There are Police claims and statements are also often issued about the “fallout, blackout” and militancy being wiped out, but the figure still does not drop.”
“Still, 250 militants are active in the Valley as claimed, by the police officers, but they say that peace has restored post Abrogation of Article 370,” added the JKPC chief.
