Karishma has made us proud
1/24/2020 9:49:50 PM
Karishma Raina, a class XI student of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Nowabad, Jammu has made the entire Jammu proud by asking a direct question to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, during "Pariksha Pe Charcha 2020" at Talkotra Stadium in New Delhi.
Of 1.5 lakh questions received from students across the country, only 13 questions were selected. Karishma's question about how the examination stress could be tackled and live up to the expectations of both the parents and teachers, figured among the selected questions which were answered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Karishma's sharpness has made the students of all government schools in Jammu region stand out. She has proved that students from government schools can compete at any level.
Students of all schools should take a cue from Karishma's boldness and confidence. Every student has to become confident in a young age so that he or she can face the challenges of life without getting shattered. The young girl from Jammu has shown the way. For many young boys and girls she has emerged as a role model. Very few students do get a chance to interact with the country's Prime Minister and then ask him a question.
There are many organizations in Jammu which claim that their only job is to encourage the young people by highlighting their achievements. These organizations should come forward to honour Karishma. Encouraging and honouring her will set a precedent and would make the young boys and girls strive for the best. The culture of highlighting the achievements of the young Turks needs to be developed.
Had Karishma been a student of a private school that institution would have gone out of way to blow the trumpet about the student from their school meeting the Prime Minister and her question being selected out of 1.5 lakh questions.
The Directorate of School Education Jammu should wake up from deep slumber and acknowledge Karishma's feat rather than allowing it to pass as a routine affair. One hopes that the people at the helm realize that they need to acknowledge the efforts of the bright children. They need to identify the role models and the brand ambassadors, whom they can project as the products of their schools. This can help in dispelling the notion that the government schools are not capable of producing the leaders. Karishma has shown the way and her rare feat can prove to be a game changer.
