Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 24: All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference (AJKPC) has expressed its gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their seven-day-long unique outreach programme of Union Ministers which concluded in J&K today.
"Historic opportunity was provided to the common masses of J&K during the past 70 years wherein they had a direct interaction with the union ministers at block and tehsil level. The interactions of union ministers with elected Panchayat members were also significant as the latter apprised them of various issues confronting the Panchayati Raj institutions (PRIs). It has set a good precedence for the future," Anil Sharma, J&K UT president of AJKPC said in a statement. The AJKPC leader termed the decision of Union Ministers' outreach programme as a step taken in right direction to assess the ground situation in J&K and start developmental works at Panchayat, tehsil and block levels.
"The outreach programme has brought a new hope of good governance among the masses as they believe that the people-friendly initiatives would be taken as follow-up of the programme and the general public would be benefitted with all centrally sponsored schemes," Sharma said. The AJKPC leader also urged the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister that all the visiting Union Ministers should stay for a night at block level and tehsil level, as a follow-up of the Outreach programme, on the pattern of 'Back to Village' programme of J&K government to take firsthand feedback of the ongoing development activities.
