| Release of all political prisoners will strengthen democracy: Sadhotra | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 24: Expressing serious concern over India slipping to 10 place to 51st position in 2019 democracy index of Global ranking according to E.I.U as reported in the press Ajay Kumar Sadhotra Senior Leader Jammu and Kashmir National Conference & Former Minister said in a Press statement issued here today that our country is the largest Democracy of the world it is unfortunate that we have been downgraded 10 number. It is all due to some undemocratic & unconstitutional acts/decisions.
It is high time that all the Political Parties of the country should sit together and evolve a democratic code of conduct to further strengthen Democracy in our country and to regain the lost status of only largest Democracy in the world Sadhotra asserted.
He added our country is going to celebrate 71st Republic day on 26th January. Mr. Sadhotra demanded that in order to strengthen Democracy all the Political Leaders/Workers arrested Former Chief Ministers Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah & Mehbooba Mufti be released in view of BJP Govt. day in day out claim that situation is normal in Jammu & Kashmir. This step will also help our country to regain lost status of only biggest Democracy in the World. He said release of all National main stream Leaders will make vibrant Democracy in Jammu & Kashmir. |
