J&K outclass Tripura by 7 wickets

JAMMU, Jan 24: Jammu and Kashmir U-23 showed temperament and class as they thrash Tripura by seven wickets in an ongoing Col C K Nayudu tournament.
Jammu and Kashmir won the toss and opted to bowll. Jammu and Kashmir bowlers bowled on good line and length and were paid off as Tripura scored only 178 runs courtesy economic spell of Imtiyaz Ahmad Ganai and Rouf Ahmad Bhat.
Imtiyaz took four wickets and Riyaz managed 3 wickets in first innings. However for Tripura
Sankar Paul and R N Saha showed some resitant but what was not enough for the team.
Sankar Paul scored 73 and R N Saha managed 41 runs as rest of the players could not score much.
Jammu and Kashmir scored 247 in first innings with Aijaz scoring 92 runs to keep Jammu and Kashmir in game and help them reach the score of 247 runs in first innings. Nipun Verma scored 33 runs; Abhishant Bakshi managed 39 runs which were also crucial.
For Tripura, Captain S S Ghosh and T R Mandal took four wickets each. Jammu and Kashmir had 69 runs in second innings. While Tripura were 45 for the loss of three wickets on day 2 stumps as the tour team trail by24 runs with two days to play.
In second innings, Tripura 236 runs only giving Jammu and Kashmir to score 168 runs to win the match. Jammu and Kashmir chased the score of 168 runs easily while losing three wickets only. Aijaz once again step forward and scorecard important 76 runs while Captain Vivrant Sharma scored 58 runs.
So far, Jammu and Kashmir has played five games, wherein Jammu and Kashmir had won three games and lost two. Jammu and Kashmir has won game against Jharkhand on first inning lead, while they lost the second against Chhattisgarh after that Jammu and Kashmir played was against Haryana and lost game to Railways over first inning lead.
While won fifth game against Tripura. Jammu and Kashmir will next face Goa on 29 January and is placed second in Elite C Group of Col C K Nayudu trophy.
