Jammu, Jan 26: The 71th Republic Day celebrated day across Jammu with great fervour and enthusiasm by and various activities and Flag Hoisting functions were organized.
In connection with 71th Republic Day of India, Police Academy Udhampur celebrated Republic Day 2020 with great fervour and enthusiasm. Director Police Academy Dr. S.D. Singh Jamwal, IPS unfurled National flag. Jamwal took the general salute of the parade contingents. Gathering of the staff of SKPA Udhampur, their family member’s, trainee officers and respectable citizens of Udhampur was approximately 1200. The Director, Police Academy during his address to the gathering highlighted the importance of the National Republic day and the history behind this auspicious day. He stressed upon the trainees, Police officers/officials and gathering at the venue for strengthening brotherhood, fraternity and secular character of the constitution of India.
The 71th Republic Day was celebrated by Dogra Sadar Sabha at its Sabha Bhawan Dogra Hall, Jammu. Col. Karan Singh Vice President DSS hoisted the national flag which was followed by National Anthem and pledged to protect unity and integrity of the whole country in general and Jammu and Kashmir UT in particular. Sweets were also distributed among the participants in the function. Prominent among those who were present on the occasion were Amanat Ali Shah, Additional Secretary DSS, Madan Rangela, Rajinder Gupta , Vidya Sagar Sharma, Ramesh Sharma, Joginder Kumar and Rakesh Kumar
Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor JMC, Purnima Sharma Dy. Mayor JMC and Avny Lavasa (IAS) Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation today hoisted the National Flag, the Tri-colour at Jammu Municipal Corporation, Town Hall Complex Jammu on the occasion of 71st Republic Day. During the occasion Mayor and Dy. mayor JMC convey heart-felt greetings to the employees of Jammu Municipal Corporation and appreciated the work of officers/officials as well as SKCs of JMC and stressed upon for fulfilment of their duties and responsibilities with dedication, hard work and sincerity for a bright and prosperous society.
Aaykar Parivar Udhampur celebrated Republic Day at Income Tax Office, Udhampur where the National Flag was unfurled by Income Tax Officer, Smt. Durga Kaul. It was followed by National Anthem by the audience. On the occasion, Durga Kaul thanked the tax payers of Udhampur for their contribution to the nation by paying taxes and urged them to ensure timely and correct payment of taxes in the future also. The function was attended by Rajeev Gupta, President Income Tax Bar Association along with its members, Ravi Malguria, President Chamber of Commerce and Jatinder Vermani, President Beopar Mandal.
Dogra Group of Colleges viz. Dogra Law College, Dogra College of Education and Dogra Degree College celebrated 71st Republic Day in Bari Brahmana Campus with patriotic fervour. Kr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust hoisted the National Flag followed by National Anthem in unison by the students and staff members of the Dogra Group of Colleges. The Secretary of the Trust highlighted the importance of the Day and encouraged the gathering to dedicate themselves to the Nation and work for the progress and prosperity of the country. Prominent among those Dr Vikesh Kumar Sharma, Principal, Dogra College of Education, Bela Charak, Principal, Dogra Degree College, were present on the occasion.
The J&K Branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), celebrated 71st Republic Day at ICAI Bhawan, Canal Road, Jammu in which members and students participated in large number. On this occasion, Chairman of the J&K Branch of ICAI, CA Shalay Razdan along with its Executive Committee members and others members of the branch unfurled the national flag and pledged to serve the country and contribute towards nation building. Secretary J&K Branch of ICAI, CA. Nakul Saraf urged the fraternity members to come forward in large numbers to participate overwhelmingly in such national festivals.
Sulabh International Social Service Organisation Jammu& Kashmircelebrate the 71st Republic day in the Headquarter Office at Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. The Flag was hoisted by Rajendra Prasad Singh who has been awarded the best social worker for his valuable contribution to the organization Sulabh International Social Service Organization Jammu and Kashmir. The main dignitary of the programme was Anil Kumar Singh Hony. Controller Sulabh International Social Service Organization Jammu and Kashmir.
The Traders of Shahidi Chowk Rajinder Bazar GM Chowk Traders Welfare Association have celebrated the Republic Day on 26th of January 2020. The Flag hoisting ceremony was done at Shahidi Chowk, Jammu. The Halwa and chocolates was distributed among the traders as well as residents of the area.

Nationalist Congress Party NCP celebrated 71 Republic day at Jammu with senior party leaders and the Youth wing.While expressing greetings to the nation in general and the people of J&K in particular Kamal Gupta NCP president hoisted the national flag with enthusiasm and dignity. Kamal Gupta while addressing the large number of gathering said that the nation owes a lot to father of the nation Gandhiji,Dr Ambedhkar and other brave freedom fighter of the ist rank who laid their lives for the sake of freedom and attained it after great sacrifices and struggle . He said the nation is living under the shadow and symbol of this tricolour flag.
Bharat Vikas Parishad Gandhi Nagar Branch, Jammu celebrated 71st Republic Day at Shivaji Chowk, Nanak Nagar, Jammu (near Vermani Mai) on 26th January 2020. The flag hoisting was done by S.N.Sharma Patron and Dev Raj Sharma National Secretary. The president of the Branch welcomed the members and guests highlighting the importance of the day. The whole show was managed and organized by Gopal Gupta President Branch, Jagjit Singh Isher Secretary Branch, Sushil Ojha Treasurer and Bhopal Dutta Chief Organizer. Kulbhushan Atri recited patriotic poems and Dr. Santosh Gupta Regional Secretary also spoke on the occasion. Prominent 80 members and guests attended the ceremony and graced the occasion.
To mark the 71st Republic day, flag hosting ceremony was organized at Indian Institute of Public Administration J&K Regional Branch in association with SAHYOG INDIA, an organization committed for the Rehabilitation of Special Children and differently abled persons. Flag hoisting was done by Simran, a specially abled child of SAHYOG in presence of Dr Ashok Bhan, IPS (Retd) Patron IIPA J&K Regional Branch and other members of IIPA. Welfare Society Guru Nanak Nagar Jammu today celebrated Republic Day with full pump and show. On the occasion the National Flag was hosted with full honour while National Anthem was being sung. After salutation sweets and small handheld replicas of the National Flag were distributed among public. Social Activist Er.Rishi Kaul Kilam National Joint Secretary and Spokesperson NYC youth wing of NCP greeted the people on the eve of Republic Day said that we attained freedom from the British after great sacrifices and on 1950 India was declared as Republic with a democratic setup. The Parades at Delhi Rajpath is a mark of tribute to India. The Youth activists wished peace, brotherhood and tranquility for the nation.
J&K Intellectual Civil Society (JKICS) today celebrated Republic day in a function organized at New Delhi today.
According to press release, while addressing the members of JKICS, senior citizens, SS Sodhi stated that India celebrates Republic Day on January 26 annually with a lot of pride and fervor.
IRP-19th battalion today celebrated 71st Republic day 2020 (National Festival) with great pump and show at battalion headquarter Changran Kathua.

Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) today celebrated 71st Republic day by hoisting tricolour at party headquarters Kanak Mandi & Gandhi Nagar.
The functions were held under the leadership of P.K Ganju, Sr. Vice President-JKNPP, Adv. Bansi Lal Sharma, Advisor-JKNPP, Anita Thakur, General Secretary-JKNPP, Parshotam Parihar, State Secretary-PTU, Kunwar Bali, Provincial Vice President, Jammu-JKNPP, Surinder Chouhan, District President Jammu Rural etc.
Panther leaders demanded revival of democratic process in the State by granting statehood and hold Assembly elections.
The 71st republic day was celebrated with full enthusiasm at Shaheed Major Babber Chowk Sainik Colony Jammu.
The function was organized by Th. Jai Singh senior Congress leader. On this occasion a bike rally was also organized to spread awareness among people relating to republic day. On this occasion, Th. Jai Singh greets their wishes to the people and said that on this day our constitution was written by Dr. B R Ambedkar and our constitution is most flexible in the whole world.
Republic day was celebrated at Mendhar with patriotic ferver and enthusiasm.
The main function was organized at Govt Boys Higher Secondary School Mendhar where Sub Divisional Magistrate Mendhar Dr Sahil Jandyal (KAS) unfurled the national flag where thousands of people participated.
Senior Citizens Club Udhampur in collaboration with Jagriti old age home celebrated Republic Day by hoisting national flag, in the premises of old age home Udhampur.
Prominent senior citizens including Dr. Adarsh Prakash Chairman, Mahadeep Singh Jamwal President and Raj Guru General Secretary of the Senior Citizens Club, Jugal Gupta, Kuldeep Singh Jamwal, Sham Lal Gupta, R C Mannotra, Sewa Singh, Yash Paul Sharma, Kuldeep Gupta, Bikram Slathia, Romesh Kumar Sharma, Krishan Chander, B B Gupta, Naresh Gupta, Chaggar Singh, Mukund Lal Verma, Kulbir Singh Katoch, and galaxy of members of Club and old age home chanted the National Anthem on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. R C Nagar, Dr. Adarsh, Mahadeep Singh Jamwal, Raj Guru, Tripathi, Jugal Gupta, and Ashok Khajuria highlighted the importance of the Republic Day. Those who had sacrificed their life during struggle for independence were remembered.
The 71st Republic Day was celebrated with traditional fervour and patriotism at Katra today.
The main function at Katra was held at the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex, where Mr. Ramesh Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, hoisted the tricolour and took salute at an impressive march-past by the 25 contingents drawn from CRPF, NCC, scouts and guides, students of various educational institutions of Katra and its surrounding areas besides the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex Coaching Centre.
Speaking on the occasion, the CEO Shrine Board greeted the people on this joyous occasion. He recalled the sacrifices made by the great national leaders for attaining freedom for the country from foreign rule.
Former Minister and Ex-MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA) hoisted National flag in maximum number of wards in Jammu West Assembly segment and congratulated the masses on the occasion of 71st Republic Day. The programs were held under the leadership of District President Munish Khajuria. The programs were coordinated by Mandal Presidents Raveesh Mengi & Keshav Chopra. Prominent present in the programs were Sanjay Baru, Praduman Singh, Prabhat Singh, Sunita Gupta, Neelam Nargotra, Rajesh Gupta, Ravi Kant Sharma, Urvashi Gupta, Annu Ghai Behnal, Sangeeta Verma, Rajesh Saini, Kaka Dubey, Deepak Kumar , Sahil Gupta, Rakesh Sethi, Puneet Mahajan, Yash Pal, Honey Singh Mehar, Hardev Singh, Jatin Gupta, Mangal Singh, Rajan Bhan and many others.
Indian National people welfare society organized a function at Ram Leela Ground Bahu Fort Jammu in tri color national flag unfurl by general secretary of society Bhagyawati Large number of local people students of area participated in the function. Student delivered speech on Republic day. Women sung patriotic songs , children participated in culture programmes. President of society Indian National people welfare society Mr. Karam chand thanked to general public for participating in function of Republic day .
The water works of (PHE) EMPLOYEES Association celebrate the 71st Republic day at Company bagh jammu under the chairmanship of Provincial president Balbder Raj and Mitul Sharma General Secretary of the Association.
The National flag was hoisted by sh Balbder Raj the provincial president.
The National Anthem was recited by all present on the occasion.
71st Republic Day Celebrated in Vijaypur with full fervour by the Administration, leaders of different political parties, block head quarters schools. Chander Parkash (KAS) – S.D.M. Vijaypur has hoisted the tri-colour flag at Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Vijaypur. Love Karan SDPO- Vijaypur, Yogeshwer Singh -BDC –Vijaypur Block, Deepak Pagotra- President M.C., Vijaypur, Sarpanches, Panches, Ward Members, Prominent Citizens’ were present in function. The Students of Govt. as well as Private Schools falls within jurisdiction of SDM, Vijaypur performed the march past, cultural activities and sung the patriotic songs. Lastly, the prizes were distributed to the meritorious as well as best performers. Chander Parkash - SDM, Vijaypur while delivering the speech highlights the achievements and new projects which are in progress in the Vijaypur. He said that we must keep the environment neat and clean and follow the foot prints of great heroes who have sacrifices their lives for getting the freedom from the British Rulers.
Ram Paul Sharma - Sarpanch Panchayat Halqua Gho Brahmana, Mohan Lal Sharma – Sarpanch Panchayat Halqua Gho Brahmana have also hoisted the nation flag at their respective panchayat headquarters at village Gho Brahmana and Govt. M/S Gurwal of Block Ramgarh. The panches, prominent citizens’ and school staff were also present in the occasions. National Anthem was sung and the students performed the cultural activities. The prizes and sweets were distributed among the students.
The Political Parties have also hoisted the national flag at their Party Headquarters. Ex -Minister Sardar Manjit Singh and District President of Congress Party alongwith party workers floral the flag in the Park situated at canal road Vijaypur. Ex- Minister Yash Pal Kundal – NPP alongwith party workers hoisted the national flag at Party Head Quarter Samba. Yash Pal Kundal told that however the India got Independence on 15 August, 1947 but really the India become free from the black British Rules w.e.f. 26th Jan. 1950 when the Indian Govt. owned its own constitution scripted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Dr. Harmesh Singh Slathia – District President PDP alongwith party worker celebrates the Republic Day with full fervour at Party Head Quarter Vijaypur. Dr. Harmesh Singh hoisted the national tri colour flag and distributed the sweets among the workers. Munsih Sharma- District Hindustan Shiv Sena alongwith workers also hoisted the national flag at Party Head Quarter, Gadwal.
