Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 26: The District administration of Jammu has taken the displaced people of Satwari for a ride whose concrete structures have been demolished for the expansion of airport. The disputed site for the displaced persons which the administration has chosen for the displaced persons at Sunjwan near Dog squad office is marred by controversies as owner of this land has reportedly taken a stay from the court, but district Magistrate Jammu has erected a board that "State land trespassers shall be prosecuted under law",people divulged.
A group of displaced persons while giving vent to their anger told the Early Times that District Administration is playing fraud with them added that the disputed land that has been given to them in alternative is entangled in legal battle— moreover the land is situated at the last at Sunjwah which is even deprived of basic amenities and curse their luck that that they have to face the wrath of administration for no fault of theirs coupled with studies of childrens are also getting affected.
They said that their woes are getting further aggravated with each passing day and district administration is not paying any heed towards their repeated pleas.
Elaborating further they said that if the administration had displaced them— then first they should have been given a roof at least so that they could live with peace.
Some of the displaced persons who are old, ailing termed that administration move as a cruel joke with them in respect of compensation coupled with the disputed land which they give to them.
They said that it is a big question mark on the officials at the helm of affairs who did not ask or inquire from the patwariconcerned,Tehsildarsetc with regard to the status of the disputed land and seeks answer from the government.
These displaced persons makes a sympathetic appeal to the Lieutenant Governor and Advisor to come to their rescue as they are also human being of this materialistic world so that they could not suffer any more.
