Court rejects bail plea of job scam accused

JAMMU, Jan 28: CJM Jammu Deepak Sethi rejected bail pleas of three accused allegedly involved in a job scam.
According to the Crime Branch during the preliminary interrogation of the accused Raj Kumar, he revealed that he along with Vikas S/O Ajit Kumar R/O Bishnah and some other persons located at Delhi and Kashmir were operating as a gang and collecting money from youth of Jammu on the pretext of sending them to foreign countries for jobs etc as in the instant case Raj Kumar and Vikas had taken money from the son of the complainant and Rs 2 Lakh was deposited by Vikas in the account of his brother namely Kailash by virtue of Account payees cheques.
Offences as alleged have prima facie been proved against the accused. Both the accused Vikas and Kailash were taken into custody on 31.12.2019 and presently on police remand. Interrogation of both of them was done which revealed that Vikas had done the act as alleged and Kailash had only the knowledge about the transfer of money. Accused Vikas also revealed that he and Raj Kumar had taken some cash as well from the complainant out of which some amount had been provided in cash and some transferred in the accounts of some other persons based at Delhi and Kashmir for which account statements of the said accused as well as suspects have been requested to be provided by the concerned banks.
CJM Jammu Deepak Sethi after hearing APP Rohit Gupta for the prosecution observed that acts of the accused are against the general society at large and if the bail is granted at this stage it will be encouragement to them as the perusal of the case dairy shows that all the three accused are hand in gloves with each other. Without speaking on the merits of the case and going to merits that is whether any offence is made out against the particular accused or not which it is the sole prerogative of the trial court and the bail applications of all the three accused namely Raj Kumar, Vikas and Kailash are rejected.
