JAMMU, Jan 28: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today chaired a meeting to review the utilization plan for vacant school buildings.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sushma Chauhan, Director, Rural Development Department, Sudarshan Kumar, Deputy Director Health Services, Deputy Director Planning and Deputy Director Social Welfare Department besides senior functionaries of School Education, JMC and other concerned.
The concerned officers apprised the Divisional Commissioner about the number of school buildings lying vacant in Jammu district after merging of schools.
Div Com directed Education Department to reconcile the data and come up with a final figure for the number of school buildings vacant in district and share with the Deputy Commissioner.
The Div Com also asked the departments to share utilization plans to Deputy Commissioner for early allotments of the buildings.
Div Com suggested to utilize these buildings for Sub Health Centres, Anganwari Centres, Panchayat Ghars, Patwar Khanas, Skill Development Centres, Umeed Groups etc.
