Udhampur, Jan 29: Continuing War On Drugs offensive to contain the spread of narcotic drugs & psychotropic substances, police recovered 17 grams of contraband substance Cheroine (chitta) at Jakhani Chowk and Circular road, in two different cases here on Wednesday.
According to reports police party of PS Udhampur led by Insp. Vijay Singh Choudhary SHO laid a naka at Jakhani Chowk, for checking of vehicles . During naka checking, police party caught one suspected person who tried to escape from the police party. The suspected person was taken into custody and during his personnel search, 10 grms of heroin like substance was recovered from narcotic smuggler who was identified as Mohd. Majid R/O Udhampur .
In another case, same police party laid another naka at circular road and during routine checking stopped one suspected person who was on his own way to Udhampur market on foot, police party nabbed the suspected person. During his search, 07 grms of heroin was recovered from the possession of said accused who was later identified as Jeevan Singh R/O Ramnagar . Police has registered FIR in both the cases and has started investigations. |
