1/29/2020 9:50:45 PM
Early Times Report

Poonch, Jan 29: There are no takers of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in Mendhar as heaps of garbage are lying scattered everywhere in the town with Rural Development department Mendhar (RDD) looking as a mute spectator.
The much talked about PM’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan proved a non starter in the town as nobody showed any interest in cleaning the town of Mendhar, due to which filth and garbage not only lies scattered everywhere but it has caused health hazards.
People are apprehending spread of epidemic in case the immediate steps of cleaning the town are not taken by the authorities.
Mendhar people said the dirty water coming out of the main chowk Mendhar flows along Mendhar Bus Stand and there are pools of water along the road, and administration is not taking cogniance of it.
The effluents coming out of Main Chowk which are not scientifically and properly treated can spread epidemic in the area and this is a cause of concern for the common masses of the town. People alleged that till date, neither the district administration and the Rural Development department Mendhar has not taken any concrete step to ensure proper arrangement of this toxic and dirty water which flows through the main road.
