DDC convenes SWM meeting

SAMBA, Jan 29: District Development Commissioner Rohit Khajuria today convened a meeting of District officers to discuss Solid Waste Management agenda points in district samba.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr. Vikas Gupta, Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Kulbhushan Khajuria, Assistant Commissioner (Development) Sidharth Dhiman, Divisional Forest Officer, Abhinav, Sub Divisional Magistrate Ghagwal Ramkesh Sharma, Sub Divisional Magistrate C.P Kotwal, District Panchayat Officer, Piyush Dhotra, Tehsildar Samba, GM DIC Samba Sansaar Chand, Pollution Control Board representative besides other district officers were also present in the meeting.
DDC took appraisal of solid waste management plants in the district along with Management of Bio-Medical Waste, Plastic Waste Management, Construction and Demonization waste (C&D) Management, Pollution abatement in non – attainment areas, control in identified polluted river stretches, industrial pollution control, sewage treatment besides progress in regulation of sand mining in the district.
DDC directed the concerned district officer for strictly adhering to the all rule and regulations regarding SWM besides laid emphasis upon pollution control board to immediately seal the units polluting the environment and not adhering to pollution control standards.
DDC stressed upon regularly keeping a check mechanism in the district against offenders and also submitting action taken report in his office.
