Early Times Report

Poonch, Jan 29: Though people of Mendhar have been reeling under complete shortage of kerosene oil in this harsh winter in particular yet a glaring example of black marketing of the essential commodity has come fore and police has held a dealer and tanker driver in this connection as per reports.
They said a tanker bearing registration No : JK 14 A -9215 was on its way to tehsil supply office mendhar with a storage of ten thousand litres of kerosene oil from Jammu , the tanker driver Neetu ram of Jammu filled two barrels of kerosene oil to a dealer namely Abdul Qayoom at his depot near Kota . The police team on a tip off from Mendhar led by SHO Tahir Yousaf reached on the spot and arrested the accused Neetu Ram and Abdul Qayoom and took them to Police station Mendhar .
During the preliminary investigation Neetu Ram admitted that he was directed by Tehsil Supply Officer Abdul Khaliq to deliver two barrels of kerosene oil to dealer Abdul qayoom at Kota. It is pertinent to mention that supply of kerosene oil was supposed to be delivered at TSO office and there by distribution of the commodity is being done but in this case a private dealer was facilitated by the TSO Abdul Khaliq externally for probably for some favourable considerations.
SDPO Mendhar Neeraj Badyal while confirming the seizure of Kerosene oil from Kota dealer and his arrest along with tanker driver told early Times that police has lodged FIR vide no 12 dated Jammu 29 , 2020 in this regard and investigation was going on under section 3/7 at police station Mendhar.
