FC Health chairs maiden Apex Committee meeting of HIMAYAT scheme

JAMMU, Jan 29: Financial Commissioner, Health and Medical Education, Atal Dulloo today chaired the maiden meeting of the apex committee of Jammu Kashmir’s flagship youth skill development scheme- HIMAYAT.
The meeting was held to discuss various projects being undertaken under the scheme. On the occasion, a theme song was also released highlighting the working and achievements of HIMAYAT scheme in Jammu and Kashmir. It was informed that the theme song would be used to disseminate information about the scheme through electronic media for attracting the youth.
HIMAYAT is a special initiative under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya- Grameen Kaushalya Yojana for skill development of rural and urban youth of Jammu and Kashmir and being implemented through private agencies.
A detailed presentation was also given in the meeting, highlighting the achievements of the HIMAYAT scheme, and the challenges being faced in its implementation.
The FC health directed the authorities to thoroughly check the credentials of the Programme Implementing Agencies before approving the projects. He said that the PIAs should be competent enough and have experience in the relevant field.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Rural Development Department Sheetal Nanda; Director JKEDI G M Dar; Director Planning, Shabir Shafi and other officers.
