RAMBAN, Jan 29: Yash Pal Thapa, Second-in-Command (IRLA-5943), of Gurdaspur (Punjab) presently posted in 84 Bn CRPF at Ramban as Second In Command (ops) has been awarded Police Medal for Meritorious Services on the occasion of Republic Day 2020 on account of his 30 years meritorious, exemplary, dedicated and unblemished services rendered in the department. He has joined CRPF as DASO (GD) on 1990.
During the initial posting itself, Thapa, actively engaged himself in operational as well as social, cultural activities and in fighting the menace of Insurgency/terrorism and Nexalism in the State of Manipur, Assam, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Jammu and Kashmir.
He served in different parts of the country including hard area of North East, LWE and Jammu and Kashmir where he performed his duties with courage, determination and earned appreciation and three Internal security medal, one Special duty medal for his outstanding performance.
In recognition of his professional competency, he was elevated to the rank of Second-in-Command from his initial appointment of Sub Inspector. During the entire service the officer has performed more than 27 years service in operational area and performed his duties efficiently and with full dedication against Nexalism /terrorism and insurgency.
The officer has done excellent work for safe passage of Security Forces Convoy's, Darbar move convoy as well as Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra duties for the year 2017 and 2018. |
