PLS organises literary function

Jammu, Jan 29: Punjabi Lekhak Sabha Jammu today organized a literary function at K L Saigal Hall of Cultural Academy Jammu where a poetry collection of Kulwant Singh Malyagar in Punjabi titled ‘Bairi Meet Samaan’ was released. Dr. Baljit Kaur, Head of Punjabi Deptt., University of Jammu was the chief guest and S. Joginder Singh Paandhi was the guest of honour. Dr. Monojit, President, Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, Dr. Baljit Raina, General Secretary, PLS and Kulwant Singh Malyagar shared the dais. A large number of intellectuals, writers, theatre and film personalities attended the event. Dr. Monojit, President, PLS extended a formal welcome to the guests and the audience and highlighted the future activities and achievements of the Sabha. Papers were read out by Rajbir Singh, scholar of Jammu University and Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik on the poetry included in the book and the present book. It was discussed that the present book, a collection of his 34 poems peeps into various aspects of life and the values related to our daily life. Some of the poems depict his attitude towards various life situations and the reaction of the poet in his poems towards it. The poet has been able to convey his concerns satirically to say a lot in a concise text form.
