REASI, Jan 29: J&K Pollution Control Board, Reasi today organised a Knowledge Workshop for implementation of Swachhta Action Plan in Reasi district.
Deputy Commissioner Indu Kanwal Chib was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Assistant Commissioner Development Anirudh Rai was the Guest of honour at the Workshop.
Incharge Eco Club of various schools of Reasi district and Panchayat Secretaries of various panchayats also participated in the workshop.
In her address, Deputy Commissioner emphasised on the role of common citizens for proper segregation of municipal waste at the household level itself. She remarked that no government agency or statutory body can succeed in swachhta campaign unless supported by the voluntary and informed initiative of every citizen.
Director, Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA) Ashish Jain, Scientist & I/c E Waste and MSW, J&K PCB Anuradha Gupta and Scientist & I/c Plastic waste J&K PCB Randeep Singh were the Resource Persons at the workshop to spread awareness among the participants about harmful impacts of unscientific management of e-waste, municipal waste and plastic waste and various prescribed methodologies involved in scientific management of such wastes.
All the participants in the workshop vowed to implement the knowledge acquired in the workshop at ground level for dissemination of the information on waste management among the masses. In the end, Vote of thanks was presented by Divisional Officer, PCB Reasi HS Galoach.
