J&K BJP pays tribute to 1953 Praja Parishad martyrs

JAMMU, Jan 31: BJP today paid rich tributes to martyrs of 1953 Praja Parishad agitation at a function at Jourian.On this occasion Shaheedi Samark of those martyrs who laid down there lives during the 1953 agitation was also unveiled to give them befitting honour and respect.
Infact this program was to be inaugurated by National General Secretary BJP Sh Ram Madhav but he couldn't arrive due to non arrival of flight to Jammu.Though the flight of Sh Madhav arrived but till then the program has already ended.
The program was organised by Ex Vice Chairman Kissan board and President Praja Parishad Memorial Trust Jourian Daljit Singh Chib.
Brig Suchet Singh, while paying emotional tributes to the martyrs, said that the 1953 agitation under the slogan of Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan was first such historic agitation which brought all the patriotic people under one umbrella and many of them got bullets for raising tricolour, which was a crime in those days by the then ruling party and its allies. With the sacrifices of our brethren in Hiranagar, Ramban, Jourian, Akhnoor and other areas, separate post of Prime Minister was abolished and now with the sincere efforts of BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it has become possible today to truly unite the spirit of Jammu & Kashmir with the rest of India by achieving the aim of "One Constitution" throughout the Nation, he stressed.
Former Dy CM Dr Nirmal Singh said that the real tribute has been paid to them by the bold and historic decision of the abrogation of Articles 370 & 35(A) and we believe that their souls are at peace today in the heavens.
Former Minister and BJP leader Sham Sharma, in his address, stressed said that we must remember the sacrifices and tell their tale to future generations.
He said that the Praja Parishad agitation was launched with the mission to achieve true unification of J&K with the rest of Nation. It was with the objective of extending the national symbols in the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
Ex MLC Girdhari Lal Raina said that revocation of Art 370 is a real tribute who sacrificed their lives during historic Ek Nishan,Ek Pradhan agitation.The long struggle of the patriotic people has culminated with the abrogation of Art 370.
