JAAMU, Feb 1: Bihar team bowled 28 extras and Bisma Hassan played match winning innings of 25 runs in 32 balls as Jammu and Kashmir Women team outclass Bihar by 4 wickets in a Womens Under 23 One day Trophy at Cuttack. This is the second straight win for Jammu and Kashmirs eve team of the tournament. Jammu and Kashmir team won the toss and opted to bowl first.Bihar never had a good start and kept losing wickets as quick interval as they scored 79 runs in 41 over with a strike rate of 1.90 runs. And, ironically 14 runs of the Bihars eve team came from the extras given the bowlers of Jammu and Kashmir team.Aradhya Raj was the highest score getter for Bihar as she managed 18 runs. Rest it was11 runs scored by captain Apurva Kumari and Yashita Singh. Rest of the batsman could not even pass double figures.
Ananya Sharma was the most economical bowler for Jammu and Kashmir eve team as he took 3 wickets in 10 over and conceded just 10 runs.
Chasing the score of 79 runs, Jammu and Kashmir kept losing wickets but it was the knock of 25 runs by Bisma which turned the game in the favor of Jammu and Kashmir team.
And, what turned game into the favor of Jammu and Kashmir was the 28 extras of Bihar which include 14 wide. For Bihar, captain Apurva Kumari bowled some exceptional spell but that was never enough for Bihar team to go home.
The win against Bihar has given Jammu and Kashmir U-23 women team 4 points and will face Arunachal Pradesh on February 3. Earlier Jammu and Kashmir eve team had defeated Mizoram by five wickets as they chased 99 runs.
Brief Score: Jammu and Kashmir women team 80 runs, (Bisma Hassan 25 runs) defeats Bihar 79 runs all out by 4 wickets.
