| DPS Nagbani organises poem recitation competition | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 3: A group English poem recitation competition was organized in Delhi Public School Nagbani, Jammu-(West) today for the students of I and II.
The competition inspired the students to come forward and recite on stage. The students came up in groups with different poems and recited them with great zeal and enthusiasm. Recitation is an important and effective mode of learning the beauty of expression. The children were asked to come in groups on stage where they made all the characters of each rhymes come alive. The enthralled everyone person present there with their articulation and memory skills while reciting rhymes and using their creative props. It was an excellent opportunity for them to gain confidence through stage exposure. The judges were amazed and spellbound after seeing their pleasing performances.
Aarti Gupta, Coordiantor of the school while speaking on the occasion said that poem recitation is an art of expression of thoughts and understanding towards English literature. A strong performance is one in which the meaning of the poem is powerful and clearly conveyed to the audience and this was certainly displayed beautifully by the students today. |
