Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 10: To promote centrally sponsored scheme "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao", District Development Commissioner, Samba Rohit Khajuria, KAS, today, inaugurated an Exclusive Girls' Driving training programme at Inspection and Certification Centre, Barian, Samba. On the occasion District Development Commissioner, Samba said that the this training course of Girls' Driving, a first of its kind in our Union Territory, is an initiative under "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" programme wherein basic driving skills of all vehicles including with and without gear vehicles shall be provided to the students of Govt. Degree College Samba in a phased manner. He said that this initiative will not only empower the girls of our district to face challenges ahead but it shall also open up new avenues of employability in the District. It was informed that in the first batch, 20 Girls students shall be given the said training. The idea of imparting a driving training in the district exclusively for girls was conceived by the District Task Force Committee, BBBP, headed by Chief Planning officer, Samba Sukhleen Kour. Speaking on the occasion, C.P.O, samba said that district administration, samba is duty bound to empower & inspire our girl children in district to achieve their dreams and in this endeavour DTFC on BBBP shall arrange more such programmes in the field of Sports, academics and personality development in coming days. |
