UDHAMPUR, Feb 12: The efforts of District Administration to mitigate the suffering of victims of disasters and natural calamity and to provide them quick relief were highly appreciated by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEIT) GOI and District Administration was rewarded with National e-governance award 2019 during the 23rd National Conference on e - Governance at Mumbai, Maharashtra.
The award was given by Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region and Minister of State for Prime Minister's Office, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh in a ceremony held at Mumbai, Maharashtra on 8th February 2020.
District Administration Udhampur took a unique initiative and developed an Android App and a web portal for disbursal of relief. This initiative reduced disbursement time duration substantially and the initiative was named "Sakoon".
This platform brings key functionaries of the Government on a single Digital Platform for quick capturing and processing of relief case. The platform also enables case tracking by citizen as well as reporting disaster incidents.
The team of officers involved in this project comprised of Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Dr. Piyush Singla, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Gurvinderjeet Singh , Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Viqar Ahmed Giri, District Informatics Officer, Anil Kumar Sharma , ADIO NIC, Anish Sharma, Junior Assistant, Jaikkee Sharma, Developer, Vibhor Gupta.
