| 10 years on, CIC Mendhar lying non-functional | | |  Early Times Report
MENDHAR, Feb 13: The Community Information Centre (CIC) at Block Development Office Mendhar is non-functional for about last ten years. According to the reports, since 2010 when a major fire in Mendhar Town engulfed large number of Government buildings including CIC, Block Mendhar in which everything including computers was damaged, no initiative was taken by the concerned authorities to restore the CIC.
Since then, the premises of CIC is locked and out of the two contractual employees that were working in the CIC, one left the job mid-way while the other is still drawing salary for no work, the sources said. In the absence of CIC, the student community of the area particularly the aspirants of various competitive examinations have been suffering severely. Moreover, working of Panchayats is also suffering due to non-functioning of CIC.
