TAF delegation calls on Pawan Kotwal, submits memorandum

JAMMU, Feb 13: A delegation of Transparency and Accountability Forum called on Commissioner Secretary Revenue Pawan Kotwal on the part of Govt outreach programme with masses at PWD guest House Gandi Nagar and apprised him the problems being faced by the common masses. During meeting, the members highlighted that the working of Tehsildar offices throughout the state and said that there is no any fix office sitting timings of Tehsildar and Patwaries and poor public faces hardships and demanded the govt to issue strict instructions to all the tehsildars and patwaries for office regular sitting with time and days be also notified.
They also demanded that procedure for issuing income certificate particularly for getting old age/ widow pensions because the patwari and tehsildar issue income certificate in mechanical manner and always issue income certificate not less than 5000/- and deprived the poors from getting old age pension because ration cards are in most cases are combined / jointly and concerned patwaries not properly verify it was suggested by the authorities that despite joint Ration card if their children's kitchen are seprate than income certificate has to be issue on actual income the commissioner secretary gave patience hearing and assured that necessary orders will be issued in this regard at the earliest. The delegation was comprised of S Hardev Singh along with Gopal Dass Harbans Choudhary, Banarsi Lal and Nakina Bibi.
