District Soft Tennis Championship concludes at Jammu

JAMMU, Feb 13: The District Soft Tennis Championship, organised by the District Jammu Soft Tennis Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council under the banner of JK Amateur Soft Tennis Association, concluded here today with awards distribution among the winners of the tournament.
The event was participated by the sportspersons from Jammu district under different categories including Sub Junior Men’s and Women’s, Junior Men’s and Women’s besides Senior Men’s.
In Senior Men’s category, Indu Bhushan clinched the Gold medal while Silver and Bronze medals were bagged by A.S.Jamwal and Mohan Lal respectively.
In Junior Women’s Category, Sidhani Singh won the Gold medal while Antekshika and Varidhi Gupta got Silver and Bronze medals respectively.
In Junior Men’s category, Arnav Vaid won the Gold medal while Samanyu and Rishab Koul got the Silver and Bronze medals respectively.
In Sub Junior Women category, Shreemai Bhat won the Gold medal while Sarvani Choudhary and Bhavi Sharma clinched the Silver and Bronze medals respectively.
In Sub Junior Men’s category, Hardeep Singh Sudan won the Gold medal while Madhav Sharma and Madhavendra Singh got the Silver and Bronze medals respectively.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Rajni Sharma, who was the chief guest on the occasion, distributed medals among the winners.
Appreciating the unique sports talent of budding players they exhibited in the tournament, Rajni Sharma encouraged them to accord focussed attention on their game and work hard towards bringing laurels to J&K and the Nation as well. “Discipline, Devotion and Commitment are the hallmark of a true sportsperson which can take them towards the highest echelons of sports world”, she maintained.
Divisional Sports Officer, who was guest of honour on the occasion, motivated the participating players towards further adding to their sports skills saying that the Sports Council is determined to promote sports culture in the division. It is the endeavour of the Council to extend all necessary support to such budding sports persons so as to enable them compete at national and international level with high spirit, he maintained.
Among others present were Vice President J&K Amateur Soft Tennis Association and its officials Sammer Ahmad, Asif Altaf and Indu Bhushan besides officials of J&K Sports Council and District Soft Tennis Association.
