4-Day long Sports Fest-2020 Concluded

Udhampur, Feb 15: “Whole Nation becomes jubilant and feels proud when a player perform to winning a medal in any sports in an International event”, said Sujit Kumar Singh, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range in his presidential remarks on the closing day ceremony of 4-day long sports event at GDC Udhampur.
Quoting about the synergy between struggle and success of young Indian Cricketer ‘Yashasavi Jaiswal’ who performed superbly in recently concluded U-19 Cricket World cup ,he exhorted upon the players go ahead with new zeal and passion for performing better in their respective games. He congratulated all the participating, winner and runner up teams, their management and organizers of the event for organizing this event successfully.
On the concluding day final matches of 6 games were played .In cricket GDC Udhampur defeated GDC Ramnagar by 74 runs. Chasing a target of 149 runs GDC Ramnagar got bundled at a paltry score of 75 runs. In the ‘Tug of War’ played between GDC Ramnagar and Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur in which latter overpowered GDC Ramnagar by 2-1. In badminton men GDC Udhampur beat GDC Reasi by 2-0 and in women GCW Udhampur outplayed GDC Udhampur by 2-0.In T.T men also GDC Udhampur defeated Bhaskar Degree College where as in T.T women GCW Udhampur snatched win from GDC Udhampur.
Earlier the program began with the formal welcome address by Prof.(Dr.) N.K.Resutra, principal of the college where in he expressed his gratitude to the J and K Higher Education Department for choosing this college for this sports event. He also appreciated the tierless efforts his staff and Shashi Kumar Sharma for making this.
