Twin dustbins installed in several areas by JMC

JAMMU, Feb 16: On the directions of Avny lavasa ,IAS Commissioner JMC a drive under the supervision of Joint commissioner works & executive engineers of JMC was conducted for installing the Twin dustbins (green/blue)in various parts of Jammu city during the Swachh Sarvekshan 2020. The Twin dustbins were installed at locations having major footfall mainly the commercial areas like Markets, Bazaars, Offices including educational institutions, and religious places in various wards of Gandhinagar, Trikuta Nagar, Channi Himmat, Sainik Colony, Bhagwati Nagar, Raghunath Bazar, Residency Road, Jewel Chowk, Gumat, Parade Ground, Purani Mandi, Panjtirthi and Shakti Nagar. The locations were identified by the health and sanitation wing of JMC in consultation with respective Councillors of the Wards. the initiative of installing these twin bins has been taken not only to eliminate open dumping of waste in commercial areas & bazars but also to make aware the general public about importance of segregating waste into dry & wet. These bins are of Blue and Green in colours for collection of dry and wet garbage and are installed on a swinging frame for easy clearance of the garbage. This drive shall continue covering the remaining parts of the Jammu City. The representatives of market association & bazars appreciated the initiative taken by Jammu Municipal Corporation and hailed the efforts of JMC mayor Chander Mohan Gupta.
