Rates for chopper service to Marwah slashed by Rs 600

Jammu, Feb 17: After Early Times highlighted the issue of plight of people of Marwah and Warwan areas of Kishtwar District having population of nearly 35000 souls that remain cut off from the rest of the country due to heavy snowfall during winter season, the District administration today slashed the fair of chopper by Rs.600/person.
As per the details available with Early Times, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Rajinder Singh Tara who yesterday conducted an emergency tour of Marwah and Warwan areas followed by listening the grievances of General Public at Kishtwar helipad called for immediate slashing of the rates on chopper tickets since the same was burden on the poor people who were asked to compensate the losses to private chopper service providers since many a time the service provider didn’t find any passenger on

As per the agreement between the government and the service providers, Rs. 1500 has been fixed as ticket fair form Kishtwar to Marwah and Rs.2000 from Kishtwar to Warwan.
Meanwhile senior Congress leader Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh express his gratitude to newly overtaken DC Kishtwar for taking swift action with regard to slashing the air ticket fair by Rs. 600 added that they are hopeful for further reduction in air fair as Rs.2000 are still being charged for Marwah against the fixed rate of Rs.1500. He also called upon Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar to check the functioning of Anganwari centers in Marwah Sub Division.
He said that the poor children enrolled in these Anganwari centers had not received any nutrition since last over a year and called for audit of the nutrition being supplied to Anganwari centers in Marwah Sub Division.
