Police solves murder case in 7 hours

Samba, Feb 18: District Police Samba has solved a murder case registered at Police Station Ghagwal with the arrest of accused person within seven hours from the occurrence of murder.
Police Spokesperson said that 16 February, at about 13;30 pm an information received through reliable sources at Police Station Ghagwal that one Aatama Ram son of Mukhtyar Chand resident of Patyari Katlan Tehsil Ghagwal District Samba has killed one lady aged 40 years. The body of the deceased lady was lying in the house of accused namely Aatma Ram at Patyari Katlan and accused has fled away after the incident.
On this information, a case FIR No.16/2020 U/S 302 IPC was registered at Ghgwal Polie Station and investigation started. During the course of investigation, Dy.SP Hqrs.Samba and Police team rushed on spot alongwith FSL team Samba and Crime photographer, examined scene of crime, collected evidences from the spot with the help of FSL team and photography of scene of crime was also conducted.
The body of deceased was taken in Police custody for conducting of autopsy and kept at mortuary DH Samba. Efforts were made to identify the deceased lady and in the evening, the family of the deceased was contacted, who identified the deceased as Anita Devi wife Nirmal Chandra resident Utrakhand at present Dhyansar Bari Brahmana. The postmortem of the deceased lady got conducted at DH Samba and dead body was handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
A large scale hunt to apprehend the accused was started and at about 8pm the accused was arrested and taken into custody.
During the course of interrogation accused disclosed that he has developed illicit relation with the deceased lady sometime back, she was regularly demanding money/ blackmailing the accused due to this, the accused has killed the lady. Further investigation of the case is going on.
