Early Times Report

POONCH, Feb 18: People living in forward areas of the fence along LoC in the district, demanded construction of concrete bunkers inside schools which fall in the shelling zone for the protection of students and not to hamper their education during border skirmishes sources said here today.
They said concrete bunkers have to play a pivotal role in defending the lives of students and staff of the school falling in shelling zones along the LoC in sensitive areas like Balakote, Mendhar, Mankote, KG, Kirni, Gulpur, Goutrian, Khari Karmarha, Shahpur and Mandi in and across the fence near LoC.
They said that the students have been worst sufferers during the Indo pak cross border shelling as authorities have to close down schools for days together if there would have been concrete bunkers in these schools that will not only protect the students but also will be important factor responsible for hassle free education of the students reading in these schools along the LoC.
They made a fervent appeal to the Governor of the state to consider their genuine demand for the future of their children and sanction construction of concrete bunkers for these schools falling in shelling zone near LoC.
