Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 19: Govt. College for Women, Parade is organizing a Seminar on 'Sustainable Living: An Environmental Challenge' under the aegis of its Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) sponsored by the Dept. of Higher Education, J&K. The two day seminar began with the Inaugural ceremony today, wherein, the Director Colleges, Dept. of Higher Education, J&K, Prof. Yaseen Ahmad Shah was the Chief Guest. Dr. C.M. Seth, Former Director WWF-India, J&K, was the Keynote speaker for the event. The Congress is being attended by academicians, researchers, scientists and students from different Colleges, premier institutions and Universities of the region. The major highlight of the Seminar was the release of Souvenir cum Abstract book that carried a separate section on the contributions sought from the young students of UG and PG levels besides abstracts of research papers by eminent and promising researchers. Dr. S.P. Sarswat, Principal of the College said that it was a matter of great satisfaction that environmentalists, scientists, faculty and students from various colleges, universities and research institutions across the region were participating and presenting their papers in the seminar. Dr. Pragya Khanna, Organizing Secretary of the event presented a detailed introduction to the seminar. She said she was confident that there will be fruitful and enlightened deliberations on the various issues of environment which will end with practical recommendations for improving the quality of environment. Dr. Neeraj Kumar, Coordinator, IQAC presented the vote of thanks. |
