| SAD hails centre for establishment of delimitation commission | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 19: Shiromani Aklai Dal (Badal) held a meeting under the chairmanship of S. Mohinder Singh Jathedar party president. The decision of Central Govt. for establishment of delimitation commission to effect the demarcation of assembly segments was hailed. It was a long pending demand of jammunities which has been fullfiled as per their aspiration which will mitigate the political imbalance of assembly segments of Jammu province. Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) has been raising this issue since long and appreciates the steps taken by the Modi Govt. to normalize the situation of the state. The people in general are feeling free to live peacefully and are engaged in their day to day activities. Party demands that an assembly segment with a sizeable vote of Sikh community be kept reserved one each in both division keeping in mind, the scattered habituation of Sikh community in the UT. It will enable the community to select their own representative to highlight the burning demands of community at right forum for their redressal as they feel elinated and neglected due to non-inclusion of their representative in State Govt./assembly. |
