2/19/2020 7:58:53 PM
Early Times Report
KATHUA, Feb 19: Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) in a meeting held at Chann Arorian resented that DP's of 1947 from POK have been again deprived of their legitimate share of eight assembly seats again kept reserved as per the reorganization act of 2019, where in only 90 Assembly seats were granted to union territory of Jammu and Kashmir with an increase of only 7 seats.
The participants in the meeting appealed to Narendra Modi and Amit Shah minister to review the reorganization act of 2019 to raise the seats from 90 to 98 to deliver long awaited justice to DP's of 1947 from POK. While addressing the meeting Gurdev singh President along with Dwarka Nath and Tarlok Singh Tara appreciated union ministry of home affairs for initiating the process of delimitation of assembly constituencies of union territory of J&K. He termed this as a much needed step of Modi govt. to set up the delemitation commission to undo the decades old discrimination meted to the people of Jammu region. He expressed his concern that DP's of 1947 from POK have been ignored and their share of assembly seats have been reserved again as per the said act. He said that DP's of 1947 form POK have been crying for a long period for defreezing of their share of 8 assembly seats out of 24 since they were thrown out forcibly by the Pakistani tribal's from their native places in POK now under the illegal occupation of Pakistan.
